I am a PhD student at the Department of Earth & Space Sciences at the University of Washington. I am currently pursuing my PhD in Geophysics. The University of Washington is one of the oldest institutions in the USA. Prior to this I completed my MS in Earth & Atmospheric Sciences (Geophysics) at the Georgia Institute of Technology, USA.
I am currently working as a Graduate research assistant at the Earth and space sciences department in the University. There are a number of TA/ RA opportunities available here for deserving candidates.
The department of Earth and Space Sciences offers both MS and PhD programs most of us here are working towards a PhD. The department has very experienced faculty across a broad range of fields in the earth and space sciences sector. My research interests include: Non-volcanic tremor, episodic tremor and slip, slow earthquake; Earthquake frequency-magnitude distribution (b-value); Variation in locking along the subduction interface; Geometry of the subduction interface; Earthquake relocation techniques ; Earthquake production along the seismogenic zone of the subduction megathrust; Near-surface geophysics (resistivity) and Structural geology.
Students have good career opportunities in academics and industry.
